To establish or to achieve a beautiful breast, there are certain criteria that we would like to follow or at least establish

The first one is to create a gentle slow from the shoulder to the highest point of the nipple and the gentle arc from the nipple to the bottom of the breast, also a smooth outline projections outside the breast, adequate cleavage and the nipples should point slightly upwards and outwards.

The Procedure

To understand how breast augmentation is performed the basic understanding of the breast anatomy is first required. The breast is made up of the skin, the nipple and areola, milk ducts and milk glands necessary for breast feeding, fatty tissue, deep down lay the major muscles of the chest wall called pectoralis muscles and deepest still lay the chest wall made up of ribs and associated tendons and muscles.

During surgery, the pocket is developed behind the breast proportionate to the size and shape of the implants to be used.

About breast implants

Today an enormous choice of shape and size exists which allow surgeons to tailor made the procedure to satisfy individual needs and the desire of the patient. The most suitable shape and size implants for each patient will be discussed and decided at consultation.

To decide which implant is suitable for the patient, certain measurements have to be taken and also the characteristics of the patients in terms of the breast size, the height, the position of the nipple and the width of the ribs. These are criteria where we can choose the size and the shape of the implant required.

Possible Complications

Possible complications include haematoma formation or bleeding after surgery which are postop require a return to the operating theatre for drainage.

The level of postoperative discomfort after this operation to certain extent relies on the surgeon’s delicacy of handling the tissues. If the surgeon handles the tissues delicately and makes sure that there is no bruising or bleeding, the patient will experience less pain than rough aggressive handling of the tissues.
